Kathy Bowler reports on how our $3500 October disbursement was spent!

Gaining strength for therapy!

Our $995 October donation purchased food for the Daily Feeding Program and for a special meal at Christmas!  Protein is expensive so the traditional chicken and rice feast was very welcome!  Kathy and her team held 8 Christmas parties for 25 to 60 children at each party.  We also funded the Daily Feeding Program for November and January.  Therapy and learning is ineffective on an empty stomach!

We also purchased a bicycle to benefit another child and her mother!   The father recently left the family forcing the mother back to the remote village of Nambuma. The bicycle means she can bring her child for therapy 3 times a week so that she can achieve her current goal learning to sit on her own!

Nutrition Program

Our $2500 October donation purchased a 3-month supply of Chiphonde (fortified peanut butter paste) for the Nutrition Program!  This program is critical because so many of our children are malnourished.  Thanks to our donors the children received nutrition supplies for the Christmas holiday – the first year this was possible!  Whether they like it or not the children are weighed and measured weekly to ensure they are becoming healthier!!!
